Darrell has 35 years of Engineering experience, including roles as a Process Engineer, Manufacturing Facility Manger, Construction Manager, Global Energy Manager, and Consulting Engineer. He is passionate about energy efficiency, has been an active member with Association of Energy Engineers for 15 years, and is a Certified Energy Manager.
Darrell has been an ASHRAE Member for 20 years. He is an active member with ASHRAE TC 8.10 – Mechanical Dehumidification Equipment and Heat Pipes.
In 2017 he began his current role as President of Carolina Heat Pipe, designing and integrating heat pipe solutions for energy efficient dehumidification and air-to-air energy recovery applications.
Darrell earned his Batchelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from Indiana State University and his Master of Science in Building Construction and Facility Management from The Georgia Institute of Technology. Darrell is the person in our organization that continually keeps focus of where our industry is headed in the future. He keeps up with the latest news, trends and developments in heat pipe technology. He uses that knowledge to help in CHP’s own R&D initiatives.
