Carolina Heat Pipe President Attends The Winter Conference and AHR Expo in Las Vegas

Carolina Heat Pipe’s president Darrell Sandlin attended the Winter Conference and AHR Expo in Las Vegas in early February.
We attend conferences to keep a focus on new technology and industry standards. We attended sessions like Comparative Energy Analysis of Dehumidification Technologies for Indoor Cannabis Operations and spent a lot of time in the AHR Expo hall. Part of the allure of these conferences is to make sure Carolina Heat Pipe is an innovative leader in dehumidification, and/or energy recovery. After almost 30 years in the commercial HVAC industry and five patents for our business, we excel at bringing innovative ideas to our customers and their clients.
Darrell attended meetings and is a voting member of Technical Committee 8.10, Mechanical and Desiccant Dehumidification, Heat Pipes and Components. ASHRAE’s Technical Committees are integral on establishing guidelines for the industry. They are often involved in publishing white papers, acting as thought leaders for meetings and conferences to improve and advance the industry forward. Attending conferences and this one, in particular, is great for trading notes with others in the industry, hearing about the latest technology being used in the industry and connecting with speakers and organizers.
ASHRAE was formed as the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers by the merger in 1959 of American Society of Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHAE) founded in 1894 and The American Society of Refrigerating Engineers (ASRE) founded in 1904.
Darrell Sandlin is president of Carolina Heat Pipe, founded in 1993, which specializes in providing heat pipe systems that modify air conditioning equipment to more effectively handle dehumidification and energy recovery. Darrell has 35 years of Engineering experience, including roles as a Process Engineer, Manufacturing Facility Manager, Construction Manager, Global Energy Manager, and Consulting Engineer. He has been an ASHRAE member for 30 years and is an active member on the ASHRAE TC 8.10 committee – Mechanical Dehumidification Equipment and Heat Pipes.
