CHP Understands Test Scores and Performance Suffers on Hotter Days

Education Week reported on the beginning of the school year in 2022 about the heat waves across the United States. Last year 2022 marked the nation’s third-hottest summer on record, challenging HVAC systems across the US. US News used an older report about the impact that uncontrolled heat can have on students’ ability to learn.
Jonathan Klein, the co-founder of UndauntedK-12, a national nonprofit supporting climate action in public schools that tracks school closures due to heat and other extreme weather.
Schools are not prepared for the extreme heat, and we need to change that now,” said It’s also an equity issue,… “our most vulnerable students are the most vulnerable to extreme heat.
Carolina Heat Pipe has provided many educational institutions with essential climate control including Univserity of South Florida and Georiga State College. CHP products guard against leaks and mold growth leading to an improved environment. Relative Humidity (RH) levels of 30-60% reduce the spread of viruses and bacteria. Our TRAHP® systems are often customized to fit within air handlers to provide energy-efficient precooling of the entering air and use that energy to provide free controllable reheat to main the desired room RH.
Below are a few of the institutions that have a Carolina Heat Pipe designed and manufactured system. See our educational case studies here.
