Three Decades of Innovation at Carolina Heat Pipe

We think differently when presented with a problem. We keep doing this until we find a solution.

When our founder, Dick Trent, was asked by a friend to help a friend at a 5000 sq. ft. property with an AC unit that was having issues with water beads on windows and incoming air registers, an idea was born. We were awarded our first patent six years later, which was not our last. In the over three decades of business for Carolina Heat Pipe, we’ve amassed six patents from that first one. Over the years, this initial solution has evolved into the creation of our own, patented products which provide a simple, reliable energy efficient long-term solution to a requirement for a healthy indoor air environment.

The story about that first non-official project is a simple one. The challenge was presented and our founder was methodical in his approach to solving the problem. The steps were a bit more complicated. Trent ruled out their attempts at correcting the issues and evaluated and determined the problem was high humidity, a truly unhealthy environment. His solution was to redo the entire HVAC system since—all new equipment and ductwork as the old system with riddled with mold and mildew. This re-configuration included the incorporation of heat pipes for proper dehumidification.

We have worked in every sector of business-to-business and business-to-consumer. We helped facilities in education, law enforcement, healthcare, government and manufacturers. We’re proud to align ourselves with incredible companies and partners for this work. Our work is fundamental in the day-to-day operations impacting millions of people, and we find it rewarding to do so.

The bottom line is innovation. We continually approach each project independently with its own set of parameters and challenges. It’s how we’ve acquired patents, by looking at each install as a chance to make changes for improvements where possible. We continue to refine our processes and develop new ways to utilize TRAHP.

Companies bring us problems; we solve them; they need something different, we provide it…whatever it takes to give the companies we work for and their customers the best experience. We can do that for you, too. Check out our case studies and see the range of projects we’ve done.
